Weekly Summary-8/23/21-8/27/21

As I mentioned in my goals blog, this is my first time taking a DS course and it has been interesting so far. I have definitely stepped out of my comfort zone already! I had never heard of WordPress and let alone did I think I would ever write a blog or have my own domain. I have accomplished using different digital platforms like Flickr, SoundCloud, and Discord. Which I had not used prior to this class. I also uploaded an introduction video on YouTube, which was interesting because I’m not used to recording myself. However, it did take a while for my four-minute video to upload. I wonder we will use a different program later in the semester. The most difficult assignment I think was getting use to WordPress, the program is very redundant, and it can get confusing. WP and the class blog drove me a bit crazy because I thought I was doing it wrong as I did not see my blogs posting. I had to reach out to the professor just to confirm I was on the right track. The easiest assignment was Twitter! I enjoyed that it all came together, and I was happy that I was able to get the hang of it, but I am still learning.

  1. I feel you! I was a bit stressed as well. I had never used Word Press before, so I was constantly emailing Dr. Bond. I signed up for a meeting with the Digital Knowledge Center, which really helped, so if you get the chance, I highly recommend setting up an appointment with them.

    1. I didn’t mention it in my post, but I also made an appointment with the Digital Knowledge Center! They were helpful, I agree. I’ll more than likely use them in the future with other projects.
